 Bud Billiken® Parade Media Pass

We welcome all media organizations and press members to the Bud Billiken® Parade 2024! Editorial press includes writers, reporters, reviewers, producers, photographers, videographers, etc. who are attending specifically to write about the Bud Billiken® Parade and/or cover the event for newspapers, magazines, TV, blogs, podcasts, radio, etc.

PASS ACCESS

Your Press Pass DOES NOT allow:
• Early or special access into the Bud Billiken® Parade
• Guaranteed seating at the TV zone
• Free access into any events requiring an additional ticket

REQUIREMENTS

By completing the form, you agree to follow all venue regulations and event requirements. Application does not guarantee approval, as we will confirm your credentials prior to the event via email.

  • Bud Billiken® Parade 2024 retains the right to cancel press passes at any time and for any reason.

  • There are a limited number of press passes available (they typically become unavailable up to two weeks prior to the event).

  • Passes are not guaranteed for every media organization.

  • Two passes are allowed per media organization.

  • Passes cannot be sold or transferred.

  • Passes are for media coverage only and are not given to business or sales professionals.

  • Passes are not permitted for exhibitor use or promotional purposes.

  • Additional venue regulations may apply to press pass holders. It is your responsibility to abide by these terms.

  • All media coverage must be submitted to Chicago Defender Charities, Inc. and Bud Billiken® Parade by August 17th, 2024

Guidelines

Submitting an application does not guarantee approval. You’ll be notified if you have been approved or denied. If approved, additional information will be provided in your confirmation email and receipt. Every individual applying for a Press Pass should only apply once. Organizers reserves the right to revoke media passes at any time and for any reason, including but not limited to violations of the Agreement or any other policies or guidelines set forth by the Organizer.

Media Pass Guidelines: Media agrees to adhere to the guidelines provided by the Organizer, which may include but are not limited to:

  • Displaying the media pass prominently while on-site.

  • Complying with all applicable laws and regulations.

  • Conducting interviews and capturing footage in designated areas only.

  • Respecting the privacy and safety of attendees and performers.

  • Following any additional guidelines communicated by the Organizer.

Pass Restrictions: Media passes are non-transferable and may only be used by the designated representative(s) of Media named in the application. Media agrees not to sell, transfer, or exchange the passes in any manner without the express written consent of the Organizer. Each press badge is issued individually. If you’re applying with a team, each person on your team needs to apply and be approved separately.

You acknowledge that you are solely responsible for your own safety and well-being while covering the event, and that you assume all risk and liability associated with attending the Bud Billiken Parade, including but not limited to medical emergencies and property damage. By accepting a press pass, you grant permission to Bud Billiken® Parade 2023 and Chicago Defender Charities, Inc. to use any photos, videos, or other media captured during the event for promotional purposes.

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Bud Billiken® Parade 2024, Chicago Defender Charities, Inc., and their respective affiliates, officers, directors, employees, and agents from any and all claims, damages, liabilities, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of or in connection with your attendance at the event and/or your use of the press pass. This Agreement shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the state of Illinois, and any disputes arising out of or in connection with this agreement shall be resolved exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Cook County, Illinois. By accepting a press pass, you acknowledge that you have read and understand the terms and conditions of this Agreement and agree to be bound by them.

INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY

Ownership: Media Party acknowledges that all rights, title, and interest in the Event, including any performances, music, artwork, or other content presented at the Event, are the sole property of the Organizer or their respective owners.

Use of Content: Media Party retains ownership of their original content created at the Event but grants the Organizer a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, reproduce, distribute, display, and publicly perform such content for promotional purposes related to the Event, including but not limited to online platforms, social media, and press releases.

Intellectual Property: Media Party acknowledges and agrees that all intellectual property rights related to the Event, including but not limited to trademarks, logos, slogans, and copyrighted materials, are the exclusive property of the Organizer. Media shall not use, reproduce, or modify any intellectual property of the Organizer without obtaining prior written consent.

MEDIA SUBMISSION

All media coverage must be submitted to Chicago Defender Charities, Inc. and Bud Billiken® Parade by August 17th, 2024
